More Than a Repair Shop: Diehl Collision Gives Back
At Diehl Collision of Massillon, we take pride in the work we do, not just in restoring vehicles but also in restoring hope. Over the past year, on top of our regular workload, our dedicated team worked tirelessly to repair and restore two vehicles—a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander and a 2017 Kia Forte. Thanks to the generosity of Geico, which donated the vehicles, and the support of the National Auto Body Council (NABC), we had the privilege of presenting these cars to two incredibly deserving individuals: Mariah Cross and Baiyina Burney.
Meet the Recipients
Mariah Cross – 2017 Kia Forte
Mariah Cross, a single mother of four, has spent years relying on friends and family for transportation. Balancing two jobs to provide for her family, she was selected through the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Summit Medina and Stark County program. Receiving the 2017 Kia Forte is truly a game-changer for her, allowing her to take her children to school, attend community events, shop for groceries, and go to doctor appointments—all without depending on others for rides. This newfound independence is a life-changing gift for Mariah and her family.
Baiyina Burney – 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander
Baiyina Burney has devoted herself to serving her community. As a food coordinator at Mid-Ohio Food Collective, she ensures that those in need receive essential food and resources. Recently promoted, her new position requires her to travel 80% of the time. However, without reliable transportation, Baiyina had been relying on Uber to get to work and complete her duties. In addition, her daughter, a competitive cheerleader, participates in the Special Olympics outside of Columbus. Through the Special Olympics Ohio program, Baiyina was selected as a recipient of the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander, a vehicle that will not only help her reach her new career goals but also allow her to continue supporting her daughter’s athletic endeavors with ease.
