Introducing the 2025 Volkswagen ID.7
Volkswagen is set to revolutionize the mid-size sedan market with the upcoming launch of the 2025 Volkswagen ID.7. Building on the success of the electric ID.4 SUV and ID.Buzz minivan, the ID.7 promises to deliver a blend of performance, style, and efficiency that is sure to impress.
Sleek Design, Aerodynamic Efficiency
The ID.7 sedan takes inspiration from the ID.Aero concept, boasting a design that is as aerodynamic as possible. Despite its focus on efficiency, the ID.7 is also stylish, featuring a modern and sleek exterior that is sure to turn heads on the road. The sedan is similar in size to the now-discontinued Passat, offering a spacious interior and ample cargo space.
Impressive Performance and Range
The ID.7 will initially be offered with a single electric motor driving the rear wheels, producing 282 horsepower. This setup provides spirited acceleration, with the ID.7 estimated to reach 60 mph in 6.3 seconds. A dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant with more power will join the lineup later, offering even quicker performance. The ID.7 is expected to have a driving range of around 300 miles per charge, thanks to its 77.0-kWh battery pack. A larger 86.0-kWh battery will be available later for even more range.
Advanced Technology and Features
Inside, the ID.7 will come equipped with a large 15.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, featuring Volkswagen's latest infotainment interface. A head-up display will project key information onto the windshield, providing drivers with easy access to important information. The interior design is smart and spacious, with a liftback design similar to that of the gasoline-powered Arteon sedan.
Safety and Warranty
The ID.7 is expected to come standard with a host of driver-assistance features, including automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. Volkswagen offers an above-average limited warranty and below-average powertrain coverage compared to rival non-luxury brands, along with two years or 20,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance.
